All hail gin, the "happy medium" of clear spirits: It's refreshing in a summer spritzer or citrusy cocktail, and its juniper berry base is said to : it's low in calories, helps fight infection and disease, and boosts digestion (in other words, sign us up 🙋). Below, 10 easy gin cocktails to mix up for summer happy hours (and help you deviate from your basic G&T routine).

1 Strawberry Rhubarb G&T
<p><strong data-verified="redactor" data-redactor-tag="strong"><strong data-redactor-tag="strong">Ingredients:&nbsp;</strong><span class="redactor-invisible-space" data-verified="redactor" data-redactor-tag="span" data-redactor-class="redactor-invisible-space"></span></strong><br></p><p>1.5&nbsp;parts<span class="redactor-invisible-space" data-verified="redactor" data-redactor-tag="span" data-redactor-class="redactor-invisible-space"></span> Hendrick's &nbsp;Gin</p><p>3 parts Q Tonic</p><p>1.5 parts Strawberry Rhubarb Simple Syrup*</p><p>Fresh Strawberries and Basil, for garnish</p><p><strong data-redactor-tag="strong">Directions:&nbsp;</strong><span class="redactor-invisible-space" data-verified="redactor" data-redactor-tag="span" data-redactor-class="redactor-invisible-space"></span></p><p>Add gin and simple syrup to a glass, add ice, top with Q Tonic, and garnish with strawberries and basil.</p><p>*Add 1 cup each of chopped fresh rhubarb and strawberries, 3/4 cup raw cane sugar,&nbsp;and 1 cup water to a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes until fruit breaks down. Ingredients: 

1.5 parts Hendrick's  Gin

3 parts Q Tonic

1.5 parts Strawberry Rhubarb Simple Syrup*

Fresh Strawberries and Basil, for garnish

Directions: 

Add gin and simple syrup to a glass, add ice, top with Q Tonic, and garnish with strawberries and basil.

*Add 1 cup each of chopped fresh rhubarb and strawberries, 3/4 cup raw cane sugar, and 1 cup water to a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes until fruit breaks down. Strain through a chinois and chill.

2 Gin Mare

3 Spanish-Style Spring G&T

4 Gin-Fitzey

Gin</p><p>Simple Syrup</p><p>½ Lime (sliced into 3 wedges)</p><p>Splash of Lemon Lime Sparking Ice</p><p>Lime, for&nbsp;garnish</p><p><strong data-redactor-tag="strong">Directions:&nbsp;</strong><span class="redactor-invisible-space" data-verified="redactor" data-redactor-tag="span" data-redactor-class="redactor-invisible-space"></span><br></p><p>Add gin, simple syrup, and lime wedges to shaker. Muddle. Add ice. Shake and strain into highball glass. Add a splash of Lemon Lime Sparkling Ice. 1.5 oz. Gin

Simple Syrup

½ Lime (sliced into 3 wedges)

Splash of Lemon Lime Sparking Ice

Lime, for garnish

Directions: 

Add gin, simple syrup, and lime wedges to shaker. Muddle. Add ice. Shake and strain into highball glass. Add a splash of Lemon Lime Sparkling Ice. Garnish with lime twist.

5 Verde Gimlet

½ part Rich Simple Syrup (2:1 Sugar:Water)

Slice of Cucumber

Directions: 

Add all ingredients to shaker, add ice, and shake hard to chill and dilute.  Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a cocktail coupe, then garnish with a cucumber wheel.

6 Infused Cucumber G&T

3 Cucumber Ribbons, per drink

Directions: 

Lay cucumber ribbons against the inside of a tall Collins glass end to end from bottom to top.  Carefully add cube ice. Top with gin and tonic and garnish with lime.

7 Rosa is Red
<p><strong data-redactor-tag="strong">Ingredients: </strong><br>
</p><p>5 oz. Rosa Regale
</p><p>1 oz. London Dry Gin
</p><p>3/4  oz. Lemon Juice
</p><p>3/4  oz. Lavender Simple Syrup*
</p><p>1/2  oz. Blood Orange Juice
</p><p>1 Strawberry, sliced
</p><p>Orange Peel, for garnish
</p><p><strong data-redactor-tag="strong">Directions: </strong><br>
</p><p>Combine gin, lemon, blood orange, and lavender simple syrup into shaking tin and fill half way with ice. Shake for 3 seconds and strain into a wine glass with ice and top with sparkling rose. Drop strawberries into glass and garnish with orange peel.

3/4 oz. Lemon Juice

3/4 oz. Lavender Simple Syrup*

1/2 oz. Blood Orange Juice

1 Strawberry, sliced

Orange Peel, for garnish

Directions:

Combine gin, lemon, blood orange, and lavender simple syrup into shaking tin and fill half way with ice. Shake for 3 seconds and strain into a wine glass with ice and top with sparkling rose. Drop strawberries into glass and garnish with orange peel.

*Bring one cup water to a boil with 1 Tblsp. lavender sprigs. Add 1 cup of sugar and stir until dissolved. Take off heat and let cool. Strain out lavender and refrigerate up to one week.

Simple Syrup</p><p>3 Blackberries</p><p>4 Mint Leaves</p><p><strong data-redactor-tag="strong" data-verified="redactor">Directions:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Combine Brooklyn-made Greenhook gin, freshly squeezed lime, beet juice, simple syrup, local blackberries, and mint. Serve&nbsp;on the rocks and top&nbsp;with Q Club Soda.</p><p><em data-redactor-tag="em" data-verified="redactor">Served at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge</em></p>
