Ahead of Friday's 43rd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, seven actresses are telling the stories of real women who've had abortions in a series of emotional videos.
Elizabeth Banks, Amy Brenneman, Mercedes Mason, Mary McCormack, Dascha Polanco, Retta, and Bellamy Young explain the many different reasons women have abortions—from a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy to getting pregnant with the child of an abusive boyfriend — and the obstacles they face when getting abortions, which have been a constitutionally protected right for the past 43 years, thanks to the landmark decision.
Women submitted their personal experiences to the Center for Reproductive Rights' Draw the Line campaign. They're hoping the stories will draw attention to the March 2 Supreme Court case which will determine whether Texas can implement restrictions that would shut down nearly all abortion care providers in the state.
